Power and grace took prime time when “Wonder Woman” debuted in 1975, forever changing the TV superhero genre as Lynda Carter became a household icon almost overnight. She was crowned Miss World USA in 1972, before landing the superhero title role, a portrayal that earned her enduring status and a Gracie Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016.
Her 1970s prominence extended into music specials and Emmy-nominated television variety programmes. In May 2025, Linda received the Paley Centre for Media Honors, sharing how initial TV scepticism fell away when the series celebrated its 50th anniversary. An Instagram clip showed her spinning her lasso at Paris Fashion Week in April 2025.
